Dot Day Celebration!

Dots, dots, DOTS!  All around the SJS Art Studio. And now the hallway.  Why?
Well... it all began when every art class watched a video based upon a children's book, The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds. It tells a story about a little girl whose frustration at not being able to draw leads her teacher to encourage her; "Make your mark, and see where it takes you".  So she makes one very deliberate little dot and, with her teacher's encouragement, begins a highly creative exploration of dot making.

SO... each student celebrated their uniqueness and creativity by designing their own never-before-seen-dot.
We discussed having courage to create, to be ourselves, to make our own unique contribution in the world... to make our mark.
Enjoy our spectacular collaborative art installed outside the computer lab!!!

A bonus: twirling CDs created string dots!
