Mobiles: Hanging Art In Motion

Fifth grade artists sculpted wire to form these abstract mobiles.
They looked at artwork of Alexander Calder,an artist born in Pennsylvania, who began creating mobiles in the 1930's. Calder was the first artist who thought of mobiles as hanging, moving art.
Children discovered that it can be very tricky to think about creating art in three dimensions!
